Hereford Township church to hold pig roast and hoedown

• There will be a pig roast and hoedown at Huff’s Union Church, 540 Conrad Road, Hereford Township, on Aug. 19. Meal includes a pulled pork sandwich, ear of corn, coleslaw, a drink and dessert. Cost is $12, available from 4-7 p.m., eat in or take out. Keith Brintzenhoff will call the hoedown under the band pavilion from 6-8 p.m. Call 610-845-2626 to buy tickets. Tickets will also be available at the event.

• Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road, Douglass Township, Montgomery County, will have coffee and conversation on Sunday at 8:30 and 10 a.m. in the Welcome Center.

• There will be an indoor potluck and game time with prizes after the 9:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday at Calvary United Church of Christ, 1231 Route 100, Washington Township. • The Walking Group of the United Church of Christ of Robesonia will meet today at 8 a.m. at Red Bridge Recreation Area, 2141 Tulpehocken Road, Spring Township. Call 484-332-4345 with questions. The Men’s Group will meet today at 8:30 a.m. at the Heidelberg Restaurant to finalize plans for the Car Show, which is scheduled for next Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Country Fare Restaurant in Myerstown, Lebanon County. • Schwarzwald Lutheran Church, 250 Church Lane Road, Exeter Township, will hold a time of fellowship and refreshments in the narthex following the 9:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday.

• St. John’s Lutheran Church, 45 N. Reading Ave., Boyertown, will have a free drive-through, take-out meal today from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. No registration necessary.

• On Sunday morning from 9:05 to 9:45, Christ Episcopal Church, 435 Court St., Reading, will present an adult forum featuring Fr. Bryce Wandrey with an in-depth look at Sunday’s scripture. Parking is available at the Abe Lincoln Hotel garage and the M&T Bank lot. Handicap spaces are available beside the church on Court Street.

• St. John’s Reformed Church will hold an outdoor worship service and potluck picnic on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Green Valley Swim Club, 160 Green Valley Road, Lower Heidelberg Township. The service will be held in the club’s climate-controlled tent, followed by the picnic. There will be outdoor games for kids after lunch. Attendees may use the pool in the afternoon for a fee.

• There will be a coffee hour at 10 a.m. on Sunday in the social room at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 5 W. Arch St., Fleetwood.
