Early voting ongoing
Early voting in the El Dorado School District's millage election will continue today from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the El Dorado Municipal Auditorium, 100 W. 8th St. Early voting will close over the weekend, and will recommence on Monday, Aug. 7.
Night at the Museum tonight
The South Arkansas Historical Preservation Society will host a Night at the Museum this evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Gallery of History, 412 E. Faulkner. The theme of this iteration of the Night at the Museum is Americana. Local actors portraying historical figures will share their characters' stories as guests tour the museum.
SATURDAY, AUGUST 5
Farmers Market open
The Farmers Market at MAD will be open Saturday from 8-11 a.m. at the MAD Amphitheater, 105 E. Locust.
Cemetery meeting scheduled
The annual meeting of the Parkers Chapel Cemetery Association will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Bethel Chapel Assembly of God Church., 1492 Parkers Chapel Road in El Dorado. Anyone who has an interest in the cemetery is urged to participate in the organization.
'Natural' pageant planned
The Miss Pink Queen Natural Beauty Pageant is set for 11 a.m. Saturday at the VOF Center, 1304 E. Hillsboro. The deadline to register is Friday, August 4. Proceeds from the pageant will benefit a young woman battling cancer. For more information, email [email protected] or call Mandy at 501-269-5031.
School supply giveaway set
The 10th annual Sharion Bailey Whitlock Backpack and School Supply Giveaway: From Court to Class is set for 11 a.m. Saturday in Mattocks Park. Backpacks filled with school supplies and lunch totes will be distributed for students in grades K - 12. The event, presented by Meet Me at the Court, The Bailey Family and the Sugar Town Riders motorcycle club, will also include free food, an inflatable waterslide, games, a three-on-three shootout and other activities. Bingo set
The VFW at 451 Industrial Rd. will host bingo Saturday evening from 5-9:30 p.m. Quarter bingo starts at 5 p.m., and regular bingo follows at 7 p.m.
